Rai News 24, part of Italian public broadcaster Rai, started a weekly English newsreel with most important news from Italy. Every Thursday a new video is posted on their web site. It's the first time Rai resumes a foreign language broadcast since they were all stopped in 2007.

ERT (Greece) is back on the satellite

3 years after abruptly clonsing down, ERT radio and tv channels are back on the satellite. 4 programmes from Greek radio, including The Voice of Greece, are available now via the Hot Bird satellite all over Europe. TV channel "ERT World" is announced to be aired soon. The station is celebrating 50 years of television in Greece (1966-2016).

On 3 January 1954 RAI, the Italian public broadcasting network, started a regular tv programme. Only a few hours for some thousands viewers but itwas the beginning of a extraordinary story, also for neighboring countries.

Swiss TV "prohibited" for Italian Border Village?

A village by Italian Lago Maggiore, just a few kilomters from Swiss shore of the lake is making headlines after was sued by Swiss Radio & TV for having switched on its own repeaters of Swiss TV programmes. The transmitter has been duly authorized by Italian Communications Ministry but Swiss public tv questions about copyrights limited to Switzerland only.

Radio and TV Capodistria, the popular Italian language stations in Norther Adriatic area, will continue their broadcasts via satellite Hotbird 13° East.

Funds were made available for further 12 months by the Italian Community in Slovenia.

RAI: New Frequency for main Channels on Hotbird

Viewers are required to tune in to RAI main TV channels (RAI 1, RAI 2, RAI 3) after their frequency has been changed from 11783 to 10992 GHz and to 16:9 format. The old frequency is now hosting a high definition channel.

San Marino TV, Test Cards active via two Eutelsat Satellites

Viewers confirm San Marino RTV has activated its satellite channels on Eutelsat platform.

San Marino RTV, the public broadcaster of the tiniest Republic in the world, signed a deal with Eutelsat last December to include its own Italian language tv on satellite.

Yes Italia, a RAI tv channel promoting Italy's cultural heritage in Italian with English and Spanish subtitles, is availbale to general public through Astra satellites system, in Europe.

Farewell to Mike Bongiorno, Quiz Master and Patriot

Popular Italian quiz master Mike Bongiorno, who died of a heart attack in Monte Carlo on Tuesday, aged 85, has been honored of a State funeral in Milan Cathedral.

Mike Bongiorno, an institution in the Italian broadcasting scene, began his career a reporter to the Voice of America's Italian program, end of 1940s.

Since the latest days of July, TV Capodistria (Regional Centre of RTV Slovenia) is back on the satellite Eutelsat Hotbird 13° Est. The seat of a ancient Italian speaking community, Capodistria (Koper, in Slovenian) studios produce original broadcasts serving a vast area, now part of Slovenia, Croatia and Italy sharing a common heritage.
